As a contributing writer for College Fashion from 2011-2013, I was first to pitch and implement two bi-weekly columns, Ask CF and Personality Quizzes, that have since become permanent features to the site that attracts millions of unique visitors each month. Both columns garnered consistent engagement from readers with views and participation consistently topping the most popular posts on College Fashion averaging between 60,000 to 100,000 readers each.
These two series were crafted to have readers engage with the content – making it interactive, personal, and valuable. At the time, most content sites provided content for the reader to intake as determined by the writer or editor (a very unilateral approach) and commenting was the only form of reader engagement.
The personality quizzes that I created on College Fashion preceded the wave of personality quizzes now made popular by online content sites such as Buzzfeed that launched this story type in 2013.
